Fruits of Knowledge

Introducing our first campaign – “Fruits of Knowledge”.

As activists – and also book podcasters! – we know that one of the best ways to increase empathy in people is through books and reading. This is not just an opinion we hold, it is scientifically valid. Reading is also great fun.

We therefore think that one of the best ways to combat the dull, stupid hateful bigotry and fascism that’s on the rise worldwide is to get people reading – the earlier the better of course, but it’s never too late.

To that end we will be raising money via a 6 month campaign for the charity Give A Book who provide books and group reading clubs to prisons, detention centres, mother and baby units, remand centres as well as schools and other educational places.

Why ‘fruits of knowledge’? Because we’re Satanists who view the allegorical Miltonic Satan as offering fruits to the mythical Eve who, as we see it, exercised her autonomous choice to gain knowledge. This was no ‘fall’ or ‘original sin’ in our opinion but a laudable and forward thinking choice!
