Join in this ritual of self-affirmation
As we open the gates of hell

These gates are open to all
These gates do not judge
These gates do not exclude

Nor does Satan

Open, gates!
Hail Satan!

My demon, see me
My demon, come to me
My demon, liberate me

I am free in mind
I am free from divine control
I am free from unquestioning authority
I am knowledge
I am reason
I am compassion
I bow to no one
I am Satan

We pause
For everyone to welcome their demon
To take pride in the self
Without shame or guilt
To celebrate who we are
To celebrate each other

(Pause)

We refute the so-called maker
His failed son
His so-called holy ghost
All lies

We seek truth and justice
We seek reason and science
We seek compassion and understanding
We are joyously sinful
We are human above all

Hail Satan!

We now close the gates
But we take that with us which is truly our own
And proudly carry it with us

Celebrant (C): What do you ask for yourself?

Participant (P): Unbaptism

C: You have asked to be unbaptised. In doing so you are rejecting the faith that was once forced upon you, rejecting the unearned authority of all gods and rejecting all their laws, commandments and institutions. Do you clearly understand what you are undertaking?

P: I do.

C: And is this an informed choice that you have knowingly made for yourself?

P: It is.

C: The Satanic community welcomes you with great joy. In its name I release you from all previous claims made on your behalf by others. I now trace the inverted cross on your forehead to mark this moment of freedom.

[the celebrant traces the inverted crucifix, maybe in ash or similar, upon the forehead of the participant]

C: What is your name sibling?

P: [Name here - which can be a Satanym rather than gvmt name]

C: Hail [name]! Hail Satan!

[echoed by all present, if any]

C: It is done. You are free of all religious obligations, injustices and traumas. Live your life beholden to none but yourself.

Hail Asmodeus,
Hail Haborym,
Hail Flauros.

Named ministers of Hell,
Strong in pride,
Strong of voice,
Implacable in action
Come to me now
I seek your virtues
To bolster mine.

Hail Asmodeus,
Strong and powerful.
Tormentor of Kings
Deposer of Gods
I invoke in myself the allegory of your strength

Hail Harborym,
Mighty in justice
Who challenged Lords
And burned their Homes
I invoke in myself the allegory of your justice

Hail Flaurus
Powerful in truth
Destroyer of gods
Challenger of ignorance
I invoke in myself the allegory of your wisdom

For in these times
There are those of riches and stature
Who seek to destroy all
who oppose them
In the name of the Nazarene.
And so we require
the traits of Hell to stand.

We are Asmodeus - strength to stand
We are Harborym - strength in justice
We are Flaurus - strength in wisdom

C: Siblings, we stand together to welcome a new life! Not a life through maternal birth, but a life chosen for oneself, based on autonomy and free will.

(pause)

C: In the name of the great Androgyne, they who are all genders and none, you do this. Hail Baphomet!

(pause)

C: Tell us your new name, sibling.

Participant (P): [they speak their name]

C: And what are your chosen pronouns sibling?

P: [share their pronouns]

C: That is who you are. In this ritual you have spoken it into reality. Your past is just that - the past. Look now to your future, spoken by the choice you have made in Baphomet’s name and illuminated by the light of the Morning Star - Lucifer, the light bringer! Hail [chosen name] Hail Baphomet!

A: Hail [chosen name], Hail Baphomet!

C: From this moment you are [chosen name] to us all and most importantly, to yourself. It is done!
